Elders and leaders of Ona Ara Local Government broke their weekly meeting to welcome Mr. Adewale Ogunniran, a media practitioner and publisher of Integrity Reporter, an online news portal.
Ogunniran and his followers were received into their midst by the Chairman, Elders/Leaders Committee, Pa Biliaminu Oladele, who is also the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government.
In his speech, Ogunniran expressed his intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives in Ona Ara/ Egbeda Federal Constituency under the platform of the party in the next election in 2015. He called on the elders to give him their support in his quest to give the constituency quality representation in the next dispensation.
One of the elders at the meeting, Pastor Matthew Bogunmbe, told Ogunniran that the elders are happy with him because he deemed it fit to visit them and declare his intention in their meeting. He then offered prayers in support of the aspirant’s ambition.
Another respected elder in the constituency, Pa Jaiyeola Bankole, praised God for giving them a young, dynamic and respectful young man in Ogunniran, whom, he said will not let both the elders and the young down if he eventually clinched the party ticket and win in the general election.
“We are happy that Ogunniran has come to us, he has shown that he is a true son of Ona Ara and Egbeda and we will give him our support for him to be able to achieve his ambition come general election in 2015.
One of the high points of the visit was a long special prayer offered by a woman leader in the area, popularly known as Iya Repete, who prayed for the success of the aspirant; also led others members of the party present at the meeting to sing praises of the aspirant while also dancing to good and music provided at the meeting.
Some of the elders at the meeting include Mr Sunmaila Akani, Chairman Caretaker committee of Ona Ara Local Government, Mr. Sina Adeagbo, Baba Elege, Hon Jenrade, Mr Bola Fawole and Alhaji Ore; among others.
